Could There Be Another Breakthrough Bigger Than AI, or Is AI the Final Big Tech Revolution?

By Ava · · 1 replies

AI seems capable of doing almost everything today - from coding and content creation to research and automation. This makes me wonder: what could be the next major technological breakthrough after AI?

Are tech giants like Google, Microsoft, Meta, and OpenAI already working on something beyond AI? Could the next revolution be humanoid robots, brain-computer interfaces, quantum computing, advanced biotech, or something we haven't imagined yet?

What do you think will be the next game-changing technology after AI?

Honestly I don't think there's a clean "after AI" the way there was a clean "after smartphones." AI feels less like a single breakthrough and more like the new substrate everything else gets built on top of.If I had to bet on what gets weird next, I'd say it's the brain-computer interface stuff combined with AI, not replacing it. Robots are the obvious answer everyone gives but humanoid robots still feel further out than people think, the hardware problem is way harder than the software problem turned out to be.Quantum I'd actually watch closely though, there's been real movement on reliability this year that wasn't there 12 months ago. Still feels early but less "sci-fi early" than it used to.
